We’re very excited.
For those who have watched it, there’s no doubting that Slow Horses is the best show on TV at the moment.
With its fourth season waiting to drop this year, some more great news has come out regarding the show.
It has been announced that a new ‘companion’ show is going ahead, and it’s got an incredible leading cast already.
Based on Slow Horses author Mick Herron’s other novel series (The Oxford Investigation series), Down Cemetery Road is set for a release on Apple TV+ and will star Emma Thompson (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) and Ruth Wilson (Luther).
The show is coming off the success of the Gary Oldman-led series, which has been nominated for multiple BAFTA awards over its three seasons.
According to Deadline, Down Cemetery Road centres on Sarah Tucker (Wilson), who becomes obsessed with finding a neighbor girl who’s disappeared in the aftermath of a house’s explosion in a quiet Oxford suburb.
After enlisting the help of private investigator Zoë Boehm (Thompson) in her quest, the pair find themselves in a complex conspiracy that reveals that people long believed dead are still among the living, while the living are fast joining the dead.
Apple TV+ hit show Slow Horses is getting a ‘companion’ series with incredible cast
“Down Cemetery Road has all the hallmarks of Mick Herron’s funny and acerbic writing, and I’m delighted we will be bringing it to life for Apple TV+ with such a stellar cast,” said Apple TV+’s Creative Director, Europe, Jay Hunt.
“Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson will make it an unmissable companion piece for Slow Horses on our service.”
Both Thompson and Wilson will also serve as executive producers, alongside Slow Horses writer Morwenna Banks, who will also serve as lead writer on the newly announced series.

There is still no further update on when we can expect the fourth season of Slow Horses, but it will be dropping some time in 2024.
In the meantime, the news of Emma Thompson playing her very own Jackon Lamb-esque detective is enough to get us very excited for Down Cemetery Road.
And if you haven’t yet watched Slow Horses seasons one, two and three, now is the time to catch up.
